Caffeine is a stimulant that is used to stay awake and it gives mental alertness from fatigue. This is used as an adjunct for pain relief and also as energy accelerates. Caffeine is a non-prescription drug easily available as over the counter medication and comes in combination to acquire relief from headache and pain. Caffeine increases the mental alertness by offering the required energy for exercise training and weight loss. Caffeine cannot be considered as a mere stimulant as it reaches deep into muscles and provides power that is long lasting. Caffeine taken before any work out is also great as it fights the fatigue and keeps the person ready for the workout. Dieters also find caffeine as the solution as they feel sluggish. This is a no-calorie stimulant and does its job effectively and quickly. Caffeine anhydrous is found even in one or two coffee cups. Hoodia Gordonii is a water retaining plant, also known as a succulent, which grows without leafs. It is very easily identifiable, because the flowers of this plant have a rotten meat odor. The ingredient of the plant which is responsible for the appetite suppressing effects has been named P57. The effects of P57 in trials were registered as capable to reduce food intake by some fifty per cent on a daily basis.

L-5 Hydroxytryptophan, also known as Griffonia seed extract or L-5-HTP, is produced naturally from the Griffonia simplicifolia trees in West Africa. However, there is an increasing number of vegetarian options in which the product specifically indicates it contains magnesium stearate from vegetable sources.

Synephrine is a stimulant similar to caffeine and ephedrine and it is believed to provide an energy boost, suppress appetite and increase metabolism. The combination of all leads to burning more calories. Studies have stated that synephrine stimulates fat metabolism without the usual negative cardiovascular side effects. The effectiveness of synephrine is increased by combining it with HCL. This allows for increased absorption and more solubility in water. However regardless of the increasing popularity of synephrine HCL, there are still some debates over its over all effects and it being used as an alternative to ephedrine, a substance made illegal by many countries due to the side effects including heart disease.
