5-HTP is an amino acid which occurs naturally. It is sold in many countries including the United States not only as a diet supplement but also as an appetite suppressant, antidepressant and to abet sleep. 5 –HPT affects the serotonin synthesis present in the central nervous system and causes psychoactiveness. 5 – HPT is believed to increase the production of neurons in the serotonin; this in turn increases serotonin release and causes mood imrpovement. When administered along with decarboxylase inhibitor like carbidopa it increases the level of plasma. Nevertheless, several studies have come up with contradictory reports. While some has come up with theories about its effectiveness even in the absence of decarboxylase inhibitor, others indicate that 5 – HPT when combined with carbidopa could cause conditions similar to scleroderma.
Cellulose is the structural component of the primary cell wall of green plants, many forms of algae and the oomycetes. Cellulose is not digestible by humans and is often referred to as 'dietary fiber' or 'roughage', acting as a hydrophilic bulking agent for feces.
Cocoa Seed Extract, which is standardized for caffeine, tyramine, phenylethylamine and theobromine. Cocoa seed extract is thought to possibly help speed up the metabolism and provide feelings of fullness.
Gelatin constitutes the shells of pharmaceutical capsules in order to make them easier to swallow. Gelatin is a translucent, colourless, brittle, nearly tasteless solid substance, extracted from the collagen inside animals' connective tissue. It has been commonly used as a gelling agent in food, pharmaceutical, photography, and cosmetic manufacturing.
Guarana is a South American climbing plant belonging to the genus of trees and shrubs called Maple. This plant is common around the Amazon and very present in Brazil. The fruit of the guarana plant is being used in that country to produce a diversity of soft drinks and beverages, having the double caffeine content of the coffee bean. Other nutrients that are contained in the seed besides caffeine are protein, fat and starch, but also adenine, choline, guanine, resin, tannin and xanthine, just to name a few. The cognitive effects of guarana are well documented, but the appetite suppressant qualities of guarana are relatively new. A study has proven that a combination of yerba mate, guarana and damiana leads to a tenfold weight loss quantity when compared with a placebo.
Guggulsterone- Commiphora wightii, or the so called Guggul tree is a flowering shrub or rather a small tree which can grow up to a size of 4 meters. Once very common in India, it is now there listed as endangered, but not in northern Africa or elsewhere in central Asia. It was very popular in the Indian Ayurvedic medicine, but also currently in the western medicine for treating of heart problems. The hydrocarbon secretion of Guggul contains a plant sterol, guggulsterone, which in the human body seems to act as an antagonist to the farnesoid X receptor. Furthermore, guggulsterone is active in increasing the natural thyroid production. This in turn stimulates the metabolism and may raise the body temperature, burning stored excess fat.
Magnesium Stearate is coommonly used as a filling agent in the manufacture of capsules and tablets, such as vitamins, the source of this ingredient is typically bovine. However, there is an increasing number of vegetarian options in which the product specifically indicates it contains magnesium stearate from vegetable sources.

Phaseolus Vulgaris is the scientifically appropriate name for the common bean, which is a herbaceous annual plant. Phaseolus Vulgaris exists in many varieties, from shell beans to white beans, from red kidney beans to yellow beans, pink beans to pinto beans, many of these varieties exist all around the world, in some places being an essential part of the local cuisine. Most of the beans contain a toxic lectin, phytohaemagglutinin, which needs to be either cooked or soaked away in water. In body building circles, the white kidney bean has been promoted as a healthy weight control food, moreover, offering white kidney bean extracts, which is supposed to be lipogenic. Nevertheless, any bean is a proper source of proteins, starch and dietary fiber, as well as selenium, iron, Vitamin B6 and folic acid.

Synephrine is an ingredient that is obtained mainly from the fruit of a small citrus tree, the Citrus aurantium, also known as bitter orange, zhi shi and sour orange. Synephrine is viewed as the safer version of ephedrine, whereby the properties include weight loss, increased fat burning, raised metabolism, as well as boosted energy levels. With such properties, this drug became instantly popular with the weight loss and control circles, but also with the body building community, and is now used in venEVOL where fat burning and higher energy level properties are eagerly sought after. Initial research show stimulation of beta-3 receptors, whereby no increased heart rate or blood pressure was observed. It seems that synephrine induces lipolysis and stimulates similarly to caffeine. Some have also observed that synephrine suppresses appetite and increases the metabolic rate.
Thiamine, also called Vitamin B1 or Thiamin, is needed to help the body utilize energy from proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
Thiamine is commonly found in breads and cereals. Thiamine is water-soluble and is concentrated in muscle tissue as it passes thru the body.

Tyrosine is a non essential amino acid derived from several sources, including soy, poultry, milk and cheese products, but can also be synthesized in the body from phenylalanine. There are twenty amino acids that are used in human cells to synthesize proteins, one of which is tyrosine. It is of vital importance to the carbon dioxide conversion into organic compounds conducted by plants, the photosynthesis. Tyrosine is also recognized as a precursor to hormones, but also alkaloids and pigments. It is furthermore viewed as a precursor to neurotransmitters; it increases the levels of plasma neurotransmitters, most prominently norepinephrine and dopamine. While under normal circumstances the effects of tyrosine are inconclusive, it has been observed as useful in stress situations and to reduce the effects of a cold, fatigue, sleep deprivation and any kind of prolonged labor.
Vitamin B12 is a water-souble member of the vitamin B complex. Requirements are in the microgram range, which is lower than the milligram range of the other B vitamins. Vitamin B12 is involved in the production of red blood cells and is usually known as the anti-anemia vitamin.
